August 8, 2025 {Pinned From August}

On the cusp of the brands ten-year anniversary, COMPKART is poised to continue its competitiveness forward with its new website relaunch and competition structure.  The COMPKART brand will unify singularly under its new web platform alongside its competitive Race Department [COMPKART Factory].

COMPKART Dominates In First 2025 Outing

February 4, 2025

COMPKART Factory team kicked off its 2025 season over the weekend of January 30 – Feb 2 at the Challenge of Americas opening event in Tucson, AZ.  The event was held at the challenging Musselman Honda Circuit where the team entered a total of five official drivers.  Oliver Hodgson dominated 100cc Sr both days while young Conner Lypka battled for victory as well in Cadet.

Team Line up:

100cc Jr > Derek Wargo & Mason Kuhn

100cc Sr > Cooper O’Clair & Oliver Hodgson

Cadet > Conner Lypka

The team started off on Thursday with practice which ramped throughout the day and into the final practice day of Friday.  As the team worked through a customary four day event they had to also navigate a new tire as the series utilizes the newly homologated Shinko tire made in Korea.  The team took well to the new tire and didn’t miss a beat with Conner Lypka and Oliver Hodgson topping the time sheets in their respective categories showing the balance and diversification of the COMPKART chassis line.  Wargo and Kuhn continued to progress throughout the weekend as they came to grips with the new tire and competition as it was the first competitive event of the season for them.  Likewise, Cooper O’Clair found pace throughout the weekend and unfortunately found himself on the wrong side of a pre-final incident on Saturday and a long challenging Sunday race giving him experience and knowledge to move forward for the season.

In the end Oliver Hodgson was able to dominate both days in 100cc Sr while Conner Lypka took a photo finish third place on Saturday.  Sunday saw the team battle across the board for top positions with Wargo and Kuhn taking a respective 5th and 6h place finish while Lypka took fourth with O’Clair jumping inside the top ten in 100cc Sr.

COMPKART SUPER NATIONALS REPORT

November 18, 2024

After another successful season in 2024, the staff at COMPKART Factory ended the season of competition at the global must-attend SKUSA Super Nationals event held just outside Las Vegas, NV (USA) at the Las Vegas Motorspeedway facility.  The team continued its focus on its efficient efforts with the addition of two new junior drivers; Mick Blankenspoor (NL) and Mason Kuhn (USA).

The weekend proved to be challenging from the ‘Luck’ standpoint as all drivers showcased top speed with Oliver Hodgson topping the KA Sr time sheets while he and Cooper O’Clair worked forward on developing the X30 setup.  Blankenspoor spent his time in Las Vegas at the pointy end ending in qualifying in P6 with Mason Kuhn finding trouble in his last practice session relegating him to an uphill battle.  Micro Swift driver Conner Lypka continued to evolve as he found himself competing in the top ten all weekend before ending the weekend in 13th position.

“We found ourselves highly prepared again for the Super Nationals, however the inability to optimize our track positions in qualifying resulted in a downward spiral throughout the heat races for many of our drivers.  It’s always motivating to see the team rally and keep focus and we had several high-points with each driver with Blankenspoor and Lypka really showing depth across the class range. We gained significant data on our materials and processes and will intend to implement for the upcoming season.” — Justin Stefani

COMPKART US Trophy Final Report

COMPKART US Trophy Final Report

August 30, 2024

The Rotax US Trophy Final event kicked August 21, 2024 at New Castle Motorsprots Park just outside Indianapolis, Indiana (USA).  The NCMP facility offered its customary challenge of balancing high-speed chassis balance with long straights and tight harpin creating the ultimate challenge of balance and power. The event hosted all the normal Rotax categories including with RMC Grand Final tickets awarded to all category winners.

COMPKART entered the following drivers in its official team:

Oliver Hodgson – Sr MAX
Cooper O’Clair- Sr MAX
Quinten Lu – Sr MAX

Conner Lypka – Micro MAX

Derek Wargo – Jr MAX

Ryusei Sawada – Jr MAX

Itski Hayashi- Mini MAX

The event started well with Thursday through Friday being open to customary open testing which provided strong competition at the front of each category with multiple RMC GF qualified drivers in attendance.   New for the weekend was the addition of the EXGEL Driver Exchange drivers, whereby the COMPKART Factory team provided service for three very talented drivers to compete in Mini MAX, Jr MAX and Sr MAX.  Welcoming the pilots provided a great opportunity to showcase the American and Asian cultures while being able to provide top-level racing for their first experiences in the United states.

“The event was rewarding in a lot of ways especially with the EXGEL drivers being apart of our operation.  Of course the competition was fierce as it always is with so much on the line and we were really proud of all the team members efforts. Winning the three-peat with Oliver was a great accomplishment as was the standout performances from Ryusei Sawada and Quinten Lu. In addition we saw great speed and performance from O’Clair and Wargo, which we will look to continue forward throughout the rest of this year.” — Justin Stefani
