COMPKART Shines At US Rotax Grand Nationals

The US Rotax Grand Nationals presented by Capri Tools went off with excitement and continued until the final lap as the annual event was held at the famous Charlotte Motor Speedway.  The twisty, fast and technical circuit witness amazing racing in every category where the final winners came down to the last lap in every category.  With several COMPKART drivers entered in the event, the results proved the brand is performing at the highest level in all conditions.

First up was the Rotax Sr. category where a few COMPKART drivers put their names at the front (Workman, Yu, White, Benoit) with Workman consistently running top-two in every session besting his fellow COMPKART pilots with two heat wins and second place in the final securing a ticket to the 2020 Grand Finals in Portimao, Portugal.  Dante Yu would cross the finish line fourth place with the other drivers having some serious racing finishing further back.

The Micro Max category enjoyed close lap after lap battles with the lead trio where Colorado native and FDM driver Gage Korn best the young pilots in the fluo chassis with a wire-wire finish in fourth place in the final just missing out on his chance to take a ticket to Portimao.  Alongside the youngest category was the Mini Max class which did not disappoint as the nations best battled through their series of heats to see the final everyone had hoped for.  A three kart battle ensued after the early stages with young Ben Maier going head to head with COMPKART pilot, Enzo Vidmontiene.  The two traded first place several times as well as some very clean racing with Maier edging Enzo at the line, unfortunately for Vidmontiene a drop-down bumper penalty relegated the young pilot to a fourth place finish.

Perfect on the weekend was the Master Max drive of John Bonanno who secured his second trip to the Rotax Grand Finals.  Having spent as much time as possible competing the COVID shortened year, Bonanno’s form proved on point as he battled serious competition with the likes of Derek Wang and Tim Shutt with fellow COMPKART pilot Shutt taking the final step on the podium.

At the conclusion the Jr. Max category proved even more fireworks as the four way battle was hot in the early stages as the young and talented drivers looking to take the top honors battled fiercely and fairly until the last lap.  The Americans Frankie Mossman, Matteo Rubio-Luengo and Cameron Weinberg battled the Canadian Allen Berg with Mossman taking the win for Fulkrum Competition and COMPKART.
